The Grenade plays with the codes of Flemish vanities to express a new image with this feeling that causes the paradoxical evocation of death. Enigmatic object, the Grenade enjoy the seduction of a perfect reproduction of an industrial object in fine porcelain and its original and violent use.

How come so many homeless people are lying on the sidewalks of the streets, but none of them inside the shopping malls?

With an old blanket, and shoes that are about to fall apart,I entered the Ramat Aviv shopping mall in Tel Aviv city, lay on the floor, and closed my eyes.

I ask myself how can I create a distraction? How can I interrupt with the clean, shiny environment of the shopping mall and stop the buyer for even a second of thinking, before she is making an impulsive purchase?

So I went to the shopping mall, with a pack of stickers in my hands saying things like: "you don’t need me to be happy", "How many like me you already have in your closet?" or "You are beautiful even without me", and attached these stickers to the price tags. This way, when the buyer is looking for the price of the item, she will see the message I have left there for her.

This project started by examining other possibilities in objects' packaging, as currently, the only function of packaging is to protect the product in transit.

In this project, the packaging is used as the mold of the object; it defines and influences its form and surface, and it is being integrated into the object itself. The act of opening the mold is transferred from the manufacturer to the costumer, who is given the preliminary experience of revealing the object.

My mother was a piano teacher. My house was usually full of children who learn piano and also full of piano sounds that they are playing. While they are waiting for their turn for the piano, they played with a paper piano. Paper piano did not make any sounds by itself, but was no problem to children because they also pleasantly sang it while they are playing. There was a pleasant and fantastic interaction between paper piano and humming(singing) of children in my memory.

Is a study of furniture's and personal necesities through an examination of the existing collapsible items as trestles through new variations of connectivity by ratchet bands, that rais the question of our foot print. Can we define our foot print not in the present of being rather than at the present of moving? can the collapsed space we carry, can define us?

In my final project I try to establish my social-cultural identity by researching the Ashkenazi culture in Israel.

Although the Ashkenazi culture in Israel seems to be a social-cultural hegemony, it has actually relinquished the cultural characteristic that defined it in the past. I search for my connection, an Israeli woman today, and my forefather's Ashkenazi-Jewish cultural tradition, even though it is difficult to define.

In my familiar Ashkenazi home environment, scattered fragments of language, memories and places keep emerging and refuse to disappear. Although I was raised and grew up here, I also feel close to the crochet, crystals, manners and the dialogue that are associated with the Ashkenazi-European culture. The tension between "here" and "there" is constant. This jewelry collection ranges between the foreign and familiar, between concealed and revealed, between what was said and what can not be said, between appearance and the things themselves - all displayed in an inseparable blend.

pint of light
share!
The idea behind the Pint of Light is that light can be poured in and out of a glass and that any light can be used as a source, much like water from a tap. The inspiration for the glass came from one of G.G. Marquez's short novels, where he describes a fantasy tale of two children swimming and diving in a room full of light after they have broken all the light bulbs. The realization of the "filling and pouring" action is achieved by using electronic sensors, micro-controller for processing and LEDs for lighting.

a workshop that took place twice at the bezalel academy in jerusalem. once a year the industrial design department heads down to the shores of the dead see for couple of days of 'low tech' workshops, among the rest, the roto-molding plastic workshop offers the chance to create hollow polyethylene parts, using the "traditional" industrial process, translated in to 'back-yard' means of molding into an aluminum foil mold turned over an open fire. low tech rules!

Out in the yard polyethylene rotational molding. The process of home molding is local as the project itself.

The conflict is our home, and therefore we should have objects that refer to it. In a search for local cultural and political icons, that reflect the Israeli state of mind, and the complex situation we live in on a daily basis.

A series of objects inspired by road blocks that are an inseparable part of our life and landscape. By taking the "non objects" out from their daily Israeli context of conflict and security, Then transforming them Into new forms that contain their previous characteristics and placing them back in their natural environment. One can check what remains form their former characteristics and use in the Israeli atmosphere.

Plastic crates are a big part of urban unseen scenery. The project started with a research of 'what good can a plastic crate bring', additionally to its designated function. For this manner, the plastic crates joined us for a vacation, in order to examine their functions, capabilities, and the further possibilities that lay with in them.

The plastic crates turned out to be a good companion for out door as well as in door activities. They fulfilled a tremendous amount of functions. It seems that a well undesigned module with a well undesirable function creates an unlimited object.

This kind of module can function in various situations and duties. Eventually can be turned into any kind of furniture as long as it has a good range of accessories and convenient assembly or disassembly methods.

A criticism of treating our everyday objects with extreme caution and living with them in a very inconvenient relationship. Kicking our daily object seems a little bit more convenient. The exploration starts with ordinary objects that can be mono molded into one piece object. Questions about the necessity of accurate form are raising when a soft material is used, the comfort of a square foam shoe is basically equal to the comfort of a complicated form that fits the leg.

One of the most scaring and exciting things for the creative person, is standing in front of a blank white page.

The A4 page is the start of every creation. On this page the first ideas are written, and the first sketches are being scribbled, however in the process of creating, a great amount of pages are being wrinkled and thrown away.

The A4 light fixture symbolizes all of those pages that are full of new ideas and have been discarded. It is rich in small sparks of new ideas that are just waiting to become the next creation.
